After the transfer of northern East Prussia to the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic following World War II, the town was renamed Ladushkin in 1946 after the Red Army soldier Ivan Ladushkin who was killed nearby during the East Prussian Offensive in the previous year. بعد أن نُقل شمال شرق بروسيا إلى الجمهورية السوفياتية الاشتراكية الاتحادية بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية،تم تغيير اسمها إلى مدينة لادوشكين في عام 1946 تيمناً بالجندي إيفان لادوشكين التابع للجيش الأحمر الذي قُتل في العام السابق.
